The village of Portwrinkle is situated on the Rame Peninsula, commonly referred to as 'Cornwall's Forgotten Corner'. Part of Whitsand Bay, the Rame Peninsula boasts some of the finest and cleanest beaches in the County.

Two of these beaches are located within the village, namely Chalet Beach, directly below the Whitsand Bay Hotel, and Harbour beach, featuring the tiny, but still working harbour.

A further four miles of golden sandy beaches can be found to the East and West of Portwrinkle.
